To Make The Glaze:
in a small pot over medium heat, combine sugar, bourbon, and maple syrup to dissolve the sugar.
once the sugar has completely melted, incorporate lillie’s q honey gold and stir thoroughly.
To Cook The Ham:
start with a spiral-cut smoked ham.
gently brush the ham with a thin layer of honey gold.
sprinkle a light dusting of creole dirt over the ham's surface.
smoke the ham at 250 degrees fahrenheit for the initial 30 minutes.
after the first 30 minutes, generously apply the first glaze.
continue to glaze the ham every hour thereafter until it reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees fahrenheit, which should take approximately 4 hours in total. The final glaze should be applied around the 3.5-hour mark.
